Acts 6:1-7. No one sets out to just get by.It would be a horrible stewardship and waste of resources to allow complexity to cause disunity, to allow growing pains to divide us, or to allow our acts of mercy and justice to become inequitable...if the church were to just get by. But thankfully, God appointed deacons and elders to ensure equity [fair and impartial treatment], unity, and multiplication in the church.

What is the church? Now more than ever followers of Jesus must be able to answer this question. 2020 exposed a lot in the American church. It revealed a dependency on, and a relegation of our faith to, a weekly Sunday service. But COVID and all its effects forced the church to refocus on its mission outside the church building instead of using its efforts to get people to the building.
