Jesus, the King
For so many of us, Advent becomes a time of outward, manufactured identity. More often than not, we're concerned with outward appearances instead of inward realities. But at the center of what Advent was really meant to be is something much more. The reason the church has celebrated Advent for so long is to get past the outward and re-orient our lives around a better reality. The call of Advent is genuine, heartfelt repentance.
